FAQ's

Q. How can we get priests to come and say Mass more often? Lay ministers bring us communion occasionally, but we get Mass and confession very infrequently.
A. Each diocese is responsible for assigning it’s priests and deacons, so requests for priests would have to be addressed to the Bishop of your diocese. You can also pray – and encourage others to pray – for an increase in vocations to the priesthood.
Q. How do we get the “Free Stuff”?
A. Click on the “Free Stuff” button on our home page for full information, but it’s just as easy as emailing your request through “Contact Us.” Bibles are shipped only to Chaplains for distribution, but consecration information and other prayer materials can be sent directly to inmates.
Q. How is Marian consecration according to St. Maximilian different from that of St. Louis DeMontforte?
A. St. Louis DeMontforte was born centuries before St. Maximilian Kolbe. He, too, was a priest in a religious order, but he evangelized post-revolutionary France by traveling, either alone or with one companion, throughout the country and preaching parish missions. His method of consecration is based on an individual relationship with Jesus through Mary, of emptying oneself of possessions and ego until the soul reaches its personal point of Calvery. The goal is the individual possession of Christ as the Eternal and Incarnate Wisdom.

St. Maximilian Kolbe was born at the turn of the nineteenth century, at the dawn of what would become the century of mass communication. He lived in an active Franciscan community that evangelized using many forms of mass media. Kolbe’s Militia Immaculata is a solidarity made up of individuals who seek personal sanctification, while joining their efforts together with Mary for the purpose of winning the world for the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Q. How is the MI prison ministry different from other prison ministries? We have a chaplain here and I attend Bible study once a week. Why should I enroll in the MI?
A. MI Prison Ministry incorporates all aspects of the Christian faith, including Bible study, but it is Marian-centered. The fastest and surest way to establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is through the Immaculate Heart of His Mother. Through Marian consecration Our Blessed Mother takes whatever little bit we have to offer and makes it bigger, more beautiful, and therefore more pleasing to God. She, in turn, presents us with a “magnified” image of God that is more loving, more merciful and more human than we could every imagine on our own.
